Are you ready to take on a pivotal role as a Claims Manager for a Lloyd’s Broker in London?

You will be responsible for efficiently managing the newly created binding authority claims team and have 4 direct reports. The team will handle claims spanning territories like the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, and Europe, covering Property, Casualty, A&H, Cargo, and PI.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, distribute new claims, maintain a fair workload balance, and work on improving service
  • Technical Expertise: Your expertise will come in handy for the team, especially when it involves complex matters. You’ll be the go-to person for assistance
  • Client Relationship Management: Any issues with client relationships? You’ll help to resolve them swiftly
  • Account Management: Large accounts are your domain. You’ll ensure claims are handled efficiently and client expectations are exceeded
  • Claims Processing: Fast response and processing of claims advice and updates are your priorities
  • Financial Management: Safeguarding client funds and keeping a close eye on payments is your responsibility
  • Claims Diary: You’ll maintain a well-organised diary to track and manage all assigned claims
  • Market Communication: Effective communication with markets and third-party administrators is crucial to achieve positive outcomes for clients
  • Client Engagement: Your professional communication with clients and coverholders will nurture strong relationships
  • Maintaining In-House Records: Regularly updating and maintaining in-house systems ensures accuracy in claims management
  • Collaboration: Close communication with placing teams, especially for complex or high-profile claims, is vital
  • Management Information and Reporting: Prepare claims data for internal and external stakeholders, helping make informed decisions
  • Compliance Adherence: You must strictly follow our company’s policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Regulatory Compliance: Staying compliant with external rules and requirements, including industry-specific regulations, is crucial
  • Brand Promotion: Promote the company’s brand and uphold its values to enhance their reputation

  • Previous London market claims experience, specifically handling binder claims (any line or territory is acceptable)
  • Previous management experience
