Client Finance Assistant

The leading third-party managing agent at Lloyd’s is looking for a client finance assistant to work within the corporate finance team. The role will assist in the maintenance underwriting within the firm and its client ledgers, bank reconciliations and cashflow management.

Overview of role

  • Set up of payments on banking platforms ensuring controls and procedures are applied
  • Cashflow analysis of Insurer Trust accounts and its bank charges
  • Assisting with quarterly VAT compilation
  • Maintenance of daily cash book and banking
  • Assisting in the preparation and inputting of purchase ledger journals for clients/customers
  • Recharging of expenses to clients/co-ordinating
  • Assisting in the invoicing of all clients including reconciliation and bordereau work
  • General reconciliation work

Person specification

  • Preferably with accounting experience (AAT, or studying towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of general management accounting principles
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages, preferably SUN, would be advantageous
  • Highly numerate with the ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines
  • A flexible team player with a proactive attitude
  • Ability to progress issues on own initiative, but sufficient judgement to know when to refer to manager.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
